The Company 

     Meta-Visions was founded in 1979 by Dr. John (Jack) Walker, a certified psychologist, who after several years of private practice and college teaching entered the field of management and leadership development.         

 

Jack is a retired Adjunct Professor of Executive Education in the Ross School of Business Administration at The University of Michigan where he conducted programs on leadership, managing change, coaching and counseling for peak performance, team building, creative problem solving and the process of developing great organizations that possess character and social conscience. He was also  privileged to be a program faculty member of Executive Education in the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame for many years.  He has enjoyed past associations with the University of Dayton, the University of Cincinnati, Miami University of Ohio and the University of Florida teaching management and leadership development.  During the past thirty-two years, he has worked with many Fortune 500 companies conducting seminars for organizations throughout the world.  In the public sector, Jack has consulted with the Federal Trade Commission, the Internal Revenue Service, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Office of Personnel Management and the Department of Housing and Urban Development where he hosted a series of distance learning programs.

 

Program Content and Methodology

Jack has a passion for the development of leaders based on the tenets of leadership mindset that are  captured in this  statement.  

Leadership is a choice, not ordained by senior management nor embodied in power of position; driven by passion to make a positive difference and not by ego; earned not given, through a tenacious sense of courage, determination and fortitude to overcome obstacles, adversity and one's own self doubts; focused on creating an open, diverse and inclusive culture, promoting a shared sense of passion to fuel the economic engine and drive an organization to greatness; and embracing a fundamental belief in the power of one that you can change the world.

Each of the aforementioned seminars focuses on one or more aspects of this doctrine involving participants in an active, fun,  experiential learning process. - Program Feedback - Dr. Walker also enjoys coaching and counseling with executives in a unique individual leadership development program.  Ignore the suit above - it never shows up at seminars.

Publications

Meta-Visions develops and publishes validated management learning materials listed below which are described in detail on the following pages.  These materials are only available in a printed format at this time, but will be available online by the end of 2006.

Meta-Motivation Inventory provides feedback on 32 dimensions of personal, management and leadership style.

Interventions is a management simulation that demonstrates the power of working together in turning a troubled organization into a productive enterprise.

Creative Efficacy Scale measures potential and actual creative efficacy while identifying rational and intuitive problem solving styles.

MetaManagment Leadership Profile is a 360-competency-based-feedback instrument that is processed electronically generating a twenty-five-page report.
